1、GENERAL INTRODUCTION
The tool uses ultrasonic wave as its data carrier. By transmitlingultrasonic wave to the borehole wall or casing wall, the imaginglogging can be carried out with respect to the amplitudeand travel time of the retum wave. With measured acousticimages of open hole, the formation fracture density, deviation, azimuth as well as the fracture and cavem distribution can beacquired. For cased hole, such measurement as perforationpoint, casing corrosion and deformation, and cement bond canbe perfommed.
